Rebecca Enonchong, a Cameroonian-born entrepreneur, has carved a remarkable path in the African tech industry. The character of hers is an endorsement of the enduringness, creativity, and the ability of the individual.
From Frustration to Founding
Enonchong's journey began with a simple frustration. While being a consultant, she came across a situation where she could not locate the software that was necessary for the functioning of the African businesses. She got a good idea to start, due to this feeling, and went on to found AppsTech.
Building a Tech Empire
Enonchong aimed, with AppsTech, to bridge the digital divide in Africa by making the tools available to the businesses that they needed to succeed. She worked hard to transform AppsTech into a top provider of enterprise software solutions and serve clients in various countries across the continent.
Beyond Business
Enonchong has been the most active supporter of the women in tech movement and is also a very strong proponent of diversity and inclusion in the industry. She has also played the role of the founder of the startup ecosystem in Cameroon and beyond.

Meet Onome Ako: Fighting Hunger and Bias with Entrepreneurial Fire!
Ms. Onome Ako
Have you ever met someone who seems to be breaking the rules? Over the coming days, we'll tell you about Ms. Onome Ako, a Canadian entrepreneur who seems not only to be successful at doing business but also is mission-driven to help people.
Onome is the founder of Innovate Educate Empower (IEE), a social enterprise for addressing two main problems in the modern world: 'hunger' and 'unconscious bias'. I will identify the main technical issues confronting women farmers in Africa, and give them the acquaintance they need to solve technical problems and secure sustainable incomes.
These aren't all! Onome is the Canadian leader of SheEO, an international initiative that brings money and mentorship to female entrepreneurs who are working on social issues.
Onome's story is a powerful reminder that:
Starting your own business can be a good guy too. You can still set up a great enterprise and yet pay attention to conducting your business with a positive societal impact.
